All I Want for Christmas

Posted By on Dec 10, 2016

Christmas is supposed to be a pleasant time of year for everyone. Lately it seems that our world is full of turmoil and sad events happening. So all I want for Christmas is a day of peace. I think we all need to remember that regardless of race, sexuality or religion we are all human and should be treated as such. Everyone from the wealthy executive to the low-income housekeeper deserves a day of peace and time to enjoy the families that they have.

Are you at peace?

Have you experienced a truly happy moment? A moment where you look at the world around you and see happiness, love, civil communication and friendliness? I haven’t seen it a long time. It seems every Christmas families all over are making the sacrifice to have a loved one fighting a war, family members who have to work, or the threat of terrorism is so high that we can’t enjoy our time.

Do you have it in your heart to sit back relax, and enjoy the time you have with your friends and family? Can you past the unhappy things happening in the world right now, the missing or lost loved ones, or the economic state of your business and just enjoy the time with your family that you have. Tomorrow is never guaranteed and Christmas is the birth of Jesus who forgives us all for our sins, it’s time to set our turmoil aside and love each other as the humans that we are.

Enjoy your time of peace, how about not working?

Christmas is the time of year that everyone’s faces light up, people are polite to one another. It’s time to stop worrying about the things we can’t change and accept them for what they are. Remember that not everyone get’s the opportunity to spend the holidays with their loved ones. So if you get that chance be sure to put everything but the moment aside and enjoy your family.

Working at Christmas in the Office

So you have to work on Christmas

While the big rich CEO of the company you are working for gets to go home and spend the day with their family and children while you continue to serve the public. Well make the best of it and don’t take it out on the customers. Try to smile, enjoy the holiday and remember to be at peace with yourself and those around you. Don’t let your customers know that you are stuck working the holiday while your silver spoon in his mouth boss takes the holiday off.

Remember that your customers don’t want to come into the stores any more than you wan to be. However there will always be closed minded people who believe that you are their servant.

Thank your customers/clients for their dedication to you. Greet them with a smile, and remember they would rather be with their loved ones instead they are traveling for dinner, out to get last minute batteries or they just need a drink.

Our world is at war with someone at all times. We are trying to save the world while forgetting what faith, family and friends built this great nation that we live in. People work long hours and work holiday that hey don’t want, just to make a dollar.
If you are the big wig CEO of this company, I would recommend that your employees get the day to spend with Christmas.

Growing a business

Posted By on Mar 24, 2016

It’s all good and fantastic when a business is growing but sometimes there is the dreaded chicken and egg scenario.

We’re got lot’s of potential new sales and opportunities, do we employ more staff now or wait?

The problem many businesses have and fear is that of all the what ifs:

  • What if we get that big new client but we don’t have the staff to fulfil their needs straight away?
  • What if we employ new staff but then that big new client doesn’t go ahead?
  • What if the big new client does go ahead but it’s only for the short term and I’ve employed all these new staff?

Outsource and forget about the chicken and eggThere is a middle ground

Outsource, it may be a headache to set-up at first but it’ll protect you and your business in the long term. If business continues to expand it means you can gradually employ staff at a speed you are comfortable with. If business flat lines or worse declines then most outsourcing avenues have very short contract terms.

What can I outsource?

To be blunt, lots. A quick search on Google and you will see you can outsource pretty much anything from marketing, graphic design, paralegals, HR consultancy, bookkeepers, PR to IT. If you are looking for that all important asset of piece and quiet, why not look at outsourcing your call answering to company like Connect Communications or AlldayPA. Most of these styles of companies offer free trials so it’s a win win situation.

The main thing to remember is this, if that big opportunity does come along you shouldn’t be worrying about if you can or can’t deliver- you can, you might just need to think outside the box for the first few big contracts until you business size catches up with the volume of work you’re bringing in.

Less than 1% of businesses are growing. Is yours?

Business Development – Business Coaches, Speakers, Workshops, Seminars, Articles, Recommended Reading and More. Business owners tell me there is hope. Things are showing signs they are picking up. It is still tough to find enough leads though and converting them is far from easy. For the past 2 years I have been studying 1% of companies who have been growing. There are very few of them.

What are the 1% doing that works so well?

The companies that are doing well are impressive:

Large companies like Apple who, having been tiny for years, suddenly soared passed Microsoft to become the highest valued technology company in the world. Many small companies who you will doubtless not have heard of PhotonStar LED, who save hotels and supermarkets 89% on lighting costs. As a result their revenue growth is incredible Strategy Internet Marketing who get Google to pay attention to web sites- and only charge by results and have doubled size in 1 year flat Jigsaw Box who provide a packaged way for coaches to generate income and are seeing revenue soar I track companies like these.

I know what they are doing that is working so well for them. I know how they are different from the masses that have found the last 2 years so hard. Even in good times 80% of businesses go bust in the 1st year. Of those remaining, 80% of those go out of business in the next 4 years. That means that, for every 1 million businesses that are created, only 40,000 even exist after 5 years. That is because the way most business owners go about business is fundamentally flawed.
